have you ever noticed that when someone mentions the property in ny that the organization has and the values of it, many jws get all excited over it.

first, they act like they are going to get a chunk of it.

second, they think all that money goes to preaching and building kingdom halls.

yeah that is a strange split in their thinking. Condemning other religious leaders/institutions for their wealth and being proud of the WTS' holdings and wealth. I think in an offbeat way they equate the amount of money the WTS has with the number of publishers and that that somehow signifies god's spirit on their work. Or as mentioned, they are in total denial and at best think all of the funds are used to further assist the preaching work.

one of terrys recent threads reminded me of something i thought about during my awakening from the jw untruth.

it is something that now to me seems very illogical in the adam and eve story.

Wouldn't it have been more logical for a loving God to have given Adam and Eve a good talking to followed by time to reflect so they could realise their mistake, learn from it and became better people as a result?

I like that Ambersun - God could have given them a "time out" ........... lol .............would have saved a world of heartache

ive been lurking here for the past couple of months since i started researching the organization.

i dont have many people to talk to and its been a saving grace to read your posts.. i dont really know where to start so here i go.

its been a long journey getting here and it looks as if i still have a long ways to go to get somewhere healthy, stable and strong.

does anyone know where is it where the society is referencing how if you were to find your religon wasn't being truthful would you trust them with other beliefs?

of course they were reffering to other religions..i cannot recall where that is..anyone remember??.

check the live forever book between chapters 1 and 3 maybe. I know there is an illustration there about using the wrong directions/map and likening that to being in the wrong religion
